4 Tricks for the Perfect Christmas Tree

Welcome back! I can't believe the holidays are already here! I hope all of you have a wonderful holiday season and that's why I wanted to share this video from HGTV on how to decorate your tree this year.
  1. Placement: A lot of people think they have to find a place for the tree in a corner or squished between pieces of furniture; simply moving the furniture, though, can create a beautiful space for your tree.
  2. Lights: When you add a string of lights to your tree, make sure you bury them deep in the branches to add a glowing look.
  3. Ornaments: Start with the larger ornaments first. You can add some depth to your tree by placing metallic branches throughout. If you don't have a lot of ornaments collected, using cheaper, big bulbs still offers the same stunning look. You can also use organic materials such as pine-cones dipped in white paint.
  4. Gifts: No matter what age you are, everyone loves seeing gifts under the tree. Use a piece of fabric as the tree skirt. To display the gifts, create different layers by stacking the gifts or creating levels.

Now you have the perfect Christmas tree! I hope you found this article helpful in getting your home ready for the holidays. Have a safe and wonderful Christmas!

How is the Government Shutdown Affecting Rates Now?

Welcome back to my video blog! For a while it seemed like all you heard about was the government shut down. How did it affect our market? I asked my good friend, Wade Byers from Benchmark Home Loans to join us today and explain what’s been going on.

During the shutdown we did see an increase in interest rates to about 5 percent. I have good news, though, for those of you who thought you missed your window. Rates have dropped down to 4.25 percent; now is a phenomenal time to be in the market.

It’s important to not wait too long to make your move. After the first of the year we expect the Federal Reserve to possibly pull back on the quantitative easing causing interest rates to increase again.

Many people think that the winter isn’t a good time to sell. The truth is that there are fewer homes on the market and that means less competition for you. Statistics show that December has more activity than October or November.

So if you are considering buying or selling, please give me a call!

Market Dynamics

Hello, everyone! We just found out some fantastic news! Kari Powell with the help of her support team at The Powell Group was the top selling agent in Keller Williams in July 2013.

That’s not all the good news I have, though! I wanted to tell you about our hot market! We are in the best market we’ve had in two years! The months’ supply of inventory and the days on market are remarkably lower than 2011.

In July of 2011, the months’ supply of inventory was 9.2, this past July it was 2.7! And trends are continuing into the fall months! What does that mean for you? Now is the perfect time to sell your home!

If your home is staged, priced and marketed properly your home will fly off the market for a great price! That’s where we come in! Let us help you sell your home and give us a call!

Thinking of selling your home? Check out our Free Home Value Report!

Hi everyone! Welcome to my video blog! I’ve been getting a lot of questions lately about how that market is doing.

Our market, right now, is super hot. Homes that are in great condition and priced properly are flying off the shelf. If you were a buyer 6-9 months ago, you had the luxury of waiting to make an offer. Now, if one of my clients likes a home, I encourage them to make an offer that same day!

What should buyers and sellers expect for the rest of the summer market?

The summer is a good time to sell and buy because school is out. A lot of people were waiting to see if the great prices and interest rates would continue, but in the past 30-40 days they have increased. We are seeing the price per square foot increase as well as a jump in interest rates. This is creating a real sense of urgency for buyers who want to lock in that low rate and great price!
